The Type BLS56 38mm Sound-Flash projectile is a non-lethal ammunition designed for law enforcement and riot control operations. It is fired by a single police officer (or soldier) using a 38mm anti-riot gun or revolving anti-riot gun.
It is primarily used to disperse rioting crowds and riots through sensory disruption. When the ammunition activates, it emits:
- Strong light – causes visual disturbance
- Loud sound – causes auditory disruption
This causes the following effects on personnel:
